Can you believe in the past THREE months we have written FIVE books of the Bible through #tfpwritingtheword? How amazing!
As we look toward the month of April, with Easter cradled right in the middle, we wanted to focus in on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We will start off by writing Isaiah 53, a passage of scripture that prophesied Jesus’ death over 500 years before He was even born. In the weeks to follow, we will explore many of the events leading up to and the arrest, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ recorded in the Gospels. On Easter Sunday, we will take a short break in writing chronologically and write a very special passage in honor of Resurrection Sunday.
You may notice some of our rest days fall on Saturday instead of Sunday this month -- feel free to use your rest day when you need it throughout the week. And due to the volume of scriptures written on the most pivotal moment in history, we highly recommend that you read the story of Jesus’ arrest, trial, death and resurrection. This will give you a clearer picture and fuller context when writing the passages. (If you would like, you can take your rest days to read each Gospel’s account.) You can find the records of the crucifixion and resurrection from all four Gospels here: Matthew 26 - 28 and/or Mark 13 - Mark 16 and/or Luke 22 - 24 and/or John 17 - 21.
Whether these scriptures illustrating Christ’s death and resurrection are familiar to you or something completely brand new, our prayer is that you will see this true love story in a fresh perspective and allow the Holy Spirit to walk you through each day of writing the Word as if you there with Jesus as these events unfolded over 2,000 years ago. The Word of God is living and active -- may the truth of what Jesus has done for you fall strongly upon your heart this month.
Happy writing, neighbors -- It’s going to be incredible!
